About Ashley Holmes Design

A Collected Life in Bloom

I have always believed that nature reveals a created beauty, an inherent, unaltered aesthetic that shapes spaces that feel classic, timeless, and approachable. In the garden, I am drawn to the juxtaposition of structure and an ever-changing landscape, where intentional blooms soften the framework and bring it to life. This same intention guides the interiors I design, blending refined structure with organic elements, where form provides foundation and softness invites ease.

As a designer and gardener, I am drawn to things with history, texture, and soul. I am moved by beauty that has patinated over time, that feels thoughtfully collected rather than curated, and never too precious to live with. My love for antique and vintage herbariums grows from this same sentiment, rooted in a reverence for natural beauty, botanical history, and the quiet stories flowers continue to tell.

What began as a personal collection and a fascination with pressed flowers and their handwritten labels has grown into Ashley Holmes Design, where interiors and history meet through rare antique pressed flowers and authentic European botanical specimens.

Each herbarium I collect is an original specimen, often more than a century old and sourced from Europe and private collections. These are not prints but real pressed flowers, once gathered by hand, labeled for botanical study, and carefully preserved. They are pieces of natural history and botanical art, entirely natural, perfectly imperfect, and timeless.

Whether displayed on a gallery wall, incorporated into traditional or modern interiors, or placed above a fireplace, each specimen brings authentic history into the home, offering enduring beauty and inviting conversation for collectors, designers, and lovers of framed botanical artwork.

Ashley Holmes Design exists to celebrate the natural beauty and stories of European herbariums, honoring the historic study of botanical art while bringing antique botanical specimens into modern homes as meaningful, timeless décor.

Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.
