At Ashley Holmes Design, a love for gardens, interiors, and botanical history comes together through a carefully curated collection of antique pressed flowers.

I have always believed that nature reveals a created beauty, an inherent, unaltered aesthetic that shapes spaces that feel classic, timeless, and approachable. In the garden, I am drawn to the balance of structure and an ever-changing landscape, where blooms soften the framework and bring it to life. This same philosophy guides the interiors I design, blending refined structure with organic elements so a space feels both grounded and inviting.

As both a designer and gardener, I am naturally drawn to objects with history, texture, and soul. I’m inspired by beauty that has patinated over time, pieces that feel thoughtfully collected rather than perfectly curated, and never too precious to live with. My love for antique pressed flowers and historic herbariums grows from this same sentiment, rooted in a reverence for natural beauty and the quiet stories flowers continue to tell.

What began as a personal fascination with antique botanical specimens and handwritten herbarium labels gradually grew into Ashley Holmes Design. Today, I source rare antique pressed flowers and authentic European herbarium collections, many of which are carefully preserved and presented as pressed flowers framed art for modern interiors.

Each framed herbarium is an original botanical specimen often more than a century old sourced from European archives, universities, and private collections. These are not reproductions or prints. They are real pressed flowers gathered by hand for botanical study, labeled by early botanists, and preserved over generations.

Because of their history, every specimen is entirely unique: delicate, naturally aged, and perfectly imperfect. When framed, these antique botanicals become both natural history and timeless artwork, bringing warmth, texture, and authenticity into the home.

Whether displayed as a gallery wall, incorporated into traditional or modern interiors, framed herbarium specimens add depth and quiet character to a space. They invite conversation, celebrate botanical history, and offer a meaningful way to bring nature indoors.

Ashley Holmes Design exists to honor the beauty and history of European herbariums while sharing antique pressed flowers and framed botanical specimens with collectors, designers, and those who appreciate nature’s enduring artistry.

Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.
