Some of the loveliest botanical discoveries are the ones found where you least expect them. This Common Bugloss was gathered along a roadside in Helsingborg, the historic coastal city of southern Sweden, where the countryside and the sea have long met at the edges of everyday life.

A particularly beautiful and unusual specimen, it has an elegant form and lovely color, with blue and aubergine flowers rising along its graceful stem.
